About Me

It’s July 2014. You are a child in the UK protesting for Palestine. You don’t really know what’s going on, but online, there are a lot of crying babies and mothers carrying children who have died in their arms. Now fast forward 10 years. You see the same thing happening, but now it’s worse. The whole world knows now, yet nothing is changing.

Hi, my name is Sumayya Ahad. I've organised this pop up bake sale for Palestine to raise awareness of the genocide and occupation that has been ongoing since 1948.

I remember selling loom bands in front of my Town Hall to raise money during a Palestine protest in 2014, and here we are, still watching the same atrocities being committed 10 years later.

Just in the past 9 and a half months, 37,396 people have been reported killed. 85,523 injured. Still, nothing has been done to stop Israel, and we are instead forced to watch the IDF continue to displace millions. Sick of feeing helpless after seeing my own taxes fund the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian state, I decided to take action.

I’ve teamed up with OneUmmah, who will be on the ground in Gaza, distributing water tanks and bringing in essential supplies. As for myself, I'll continue to do these pop up bake sales, raise my voice, and donate to OneUmmah until the Palestinian people are relieved of their relentless suffering. Join the movement, and come along to our next upcoming bake sale.
